The Empty Space Between the Stars

$12.00

A collection of drama and romance short stories, The Empty Space is built off of the lighter sides of my creative process, ditching the monsters and hellbeasts for melodrama and interpersonal relationships. The collection centers around themes of communication and what people are capable of doing to overcome the obstacles that come with communication. Six short stories carefully craft the collection including:

The Empty Space Between the Stars- a deaf artist falls for the plucky, mesmerizing performances of a blind violinist and their lives are altered forever when a chance encounter under dire circumstances drives their lives closer together. Will they be able to overcome the vast syrupy sea separating them?

The Man in the Mirror- split into several chapters throughout the collection, this story follows the daily struggles of an artist as his life falls apart around him, leaving him to discover new ways of looking at his life.

Not Everyone Saves the World- a boy with the fantastical gift to see the strings of fate connecting soulmates must grapple with his own identity and heart as he falls for the girl who he’s trying to help find her other half.

What it Means to Matter- Will wakes up in a crystalline white room filled only with an endless array of haphazardly placed doors. Regaining his bearings, he chances a specific door only to be stopped by the ghostly visage of his ex-girlfriend who tells him a horrific revelation. Cycling through memories of the past, he must decipher how he got to this point.

Love’s Recluse- After an incident leaves Dustin Davy in paralyzing fear of the outside world, his reclusive nature takes him over, leaving him trapped inside his house for over a decade. The only human interaction he receives is a single person, Margot, who delivers him groceries and talks to him through a doggy door. When a new person arrives, Dustin must fight his fears of connection to survive.

Isle of Dead Birds- Atari is living an endless loop of the same monotonous routine when a group of school year friends suddenly appear at his door with a mission to travel to Hollywood and finally take their place as famous creatives. A ragtag team of oddballs and misfits, they set out to carve their place in history.
